How TrueCare Healthcare collects, uses, and protects your information.
TrueCare Healthcare ("TrueCare," "we," "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and platform (the "Platform"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using TrueCare, you agree to the practices described here.
The information we collect depends on how you use the Platform.
| If you are a... | We collect |
|---|---|
| Client | Name, email, password, care request details, messages sent to caregivers, reviews you write |
| Caregiver applicant | Name, email, phone, home address, date of birth context, work experience, certifications, references, a government-issued photo ID, optional background check documentation, optional certification files |
| Approved Caregiver | Everything above, plus your public profile (bio, photo, availability schedule, rates, languages), geocoded location coordinates, messages, and any reviews received |
| Vendor | Business name, contact information, product listings and images, fulfillment details |
We also automatically collect limited technical information such as browser type, device information, and general usage data to keep the Platform secure and functioning correctly.
As part of the Caregiver application process, we ask you to upload a government-issued photo ID and, optionally, background check documentation and professional certifications. These files are uploaded directly to our secure cloud storage and are only accessible to TrueCare administrative staff for the purpose of verifying your identity and reviewing your application.
When you apply as a Caregiver, we convert the home address you provide into approximate map coordinates (a process called geocoding) so that we can show Clients how far away you are and help match you with nearby families. Your exact street address is never shown publicly. Only a general area (such as your city and state) is visible to Clients and on your public profile.
Clients may optionally allow the Platform to access their device's location to see which Caregivers are nearby and to use the Care Map. This is always optional and you can decline or revoke it at any time through your browser settings.
Messages sent through TrueCare's in-app messaging system are stored securely and are only accessible to the two participants in a conversation and to TrueCare administrators, who may review conversations for safety, fraud prevention, or platform-integrity purposes. Please do not share sensitive information such as financial account numbers or passwords through the messaging system.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We share information only in the following circumstances:
Background check status is self-reported by Caregivers during the application process. Where a Caregiver uploads a background check report, TrueCare staff may review that document to manually mark the Caregiver's profile as "Background Verified." This verification reflects TrueCare's internal review process and is not itself a background check performed by TrueCare. We retain uploaded background check documents only as long as necessary for application review and compliance purposes, as described in our Data Retention section below.
Your information is stored using industry-standard cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit. Access to sensitive documents, such as government IDs and background check files, is restricted to TrueCare administrators only, enforced through access-control rules at the database level. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or your Caregiver application is rejected, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention purposes.

TrueCare is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it. Care requests submitted by a Client on behalf of a child are subject to the Client's own legal responsibility as the child's parent or guardian.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
